Project Portfolio · Cloud Architecture
Hello, I'm Celeborn McGinnis, an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate. This portfolio showcases cloud architectures developed to reflect real-world AWS implementations — most actively deployed, a few kept as documented reference builds to avoid running infrastructure nobody needs live. Each project is documented to provide clear insight into its architecture, design decisions, and operational functionality.
Selected Work
A running list of deployed AWS projects. Each one links to a full breakdown of the architecture behind it.

Check in daily and build a streak — a background EventBridge Scheduler job quietly resets it if you miss a day, no visitor request required.
Sign in, upload a photo, and watch Amazon Rekognition automatically approve or reject it before it ever reaches the public gallery — no human moderator in the loop.
Paste any text and get it summarized instantly by Amazon Bedrock's Nova Lite model — a real GenAI call, guarded by a daily request budget, not a canned response.
Reserve inventory, charge payment, ship — a real Step Functions Saga. Trigger a simulated payment failure and watch the state machine release the inventory it already reserved.
Sign in and ask a question — a deterministic FAQ layer answers instantly, Nova Lite behind a Bedrock Guardrail handles the rest. Every reply says which one answered.
Submit a job and watch it move through validating, processing, and complete in real time — a Step Functions state machine writes every status update straight to DynamoDB, no Lambda in the loop.
Click a button and watch one SNS publish fan out to two independent subscribers in real time — a direct Lambda and an SQS-buffered one — with the results streamed back to a live log table.
A real-time WebSocket poll on API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB — votes broadcast instantly to every open tab, no page refresh required.
A static contact form served from S3 that posts straight to API Gateway and Lambda, no backend server required.
About
I specialize in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures on Amazon Web Services (AWS). My work focuses on translating real-world requirements into practical, production-ready solutions that follow AWS best practices, including the Well-Architected Framework.
Each project in this portfolio reflects hands-on experience with core AWS services such as compute, networking, storage, and serverless technologies. From initial design through deployment and testing, I prioritize reliability, performance, and maintainability — ensuring that every solution is both functional and extensible.
In support of this work, I have earned industry-recognized AWS certifications, including the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate. These certifications validate my understanding of cloud architecture principles, security, and operational excellence, and reinforce my commitment to continuous learning in an ever-evolving cloud landscape.
This portfolio serves as a living record of my growth and capabilities — demonstrating not just theoretical knowledge, but real implementations built, tested, and deployed in AWS environments.
